Pastor John Ronald Darville was installed as an Associate Pastor at Mount Tabor Church on March 3, 2019, serving with responsibility for Millennials and Social Media with some oversight for Youth.
He is a renowned Bahamian vocal artist, musician, speaker and training professional. His family celebrates a rich Christian heritage. His has been a lifetime of empowering others through his gifts and talents which has caused for an insatiable appetite for innovation and higher heights both spiritually and professionally among those who have been the beneficiary of his services.
Pastor Darville gave his life to the Lord at age seven (7) while watching Evangelist Billy Graham in his childhood home. Following his confession of faith, he was mentored by his childhood Pastor, the Late Rev’d. Dr. John E. Clare at the New Bethlehem Baptist Church (NBBC) and was led to the water for Baptist at age 11 years. At age 7, he joined the choir and began to rock the city with his counter-tenor vocal range and his way with hymns at a young age.
In 2009, Pastor Darville transitioned to Pilgrim Baptist Temple. In August 2015, he was Licensed to preach as a Minister of the Sacred Gospel Ministry by the Rev’d. Dr. Leroy N. Major, Senior Pastor. He was appointed Minister responsible for Youth and Children’s Affairs in the first instance, and then Minister of Worship. There he also served as the Principal Organist and Chairman of the Church’s Board of Trustees until his transition to Mount Tabor Church on January 14, 2019.
Pastor Darville served The Bahamas Government for sixteen (16) years, and occupied roles such as National Youth Ambassador to CARICOM, Dean of the Corps of CARICOM Youth Ambassadors (appointed by the CARICOM Heads of Government), Executive Director of Junior Achievement Bahamas, Project Coordinator for the American Red Cross Caribbean HIV/AIDS Project and Youth Officer responsible for Grants, Youth Organizational Development and Registration, International Matters on Youth, and Youth Leader Certifications.
As a youth and organizational development professional, he has assisted many NGOs, civic agencies, churches and corporations both locally and abroad. He possesses a Bachelor of Arts in Public Administration and Government Studies (with Credit) from the University of The Bahamas, a Master of Science in Organizational Leadership and Learning (HR Focus) from Barry University4, and countless certifications in social development and behavior change communication theory.
For his outstanding work, John Ronald has received innumerable awards and recognitions including The Bahamas Public Service 2017 – 2018 National Officer of the Year Award, the Commonwealth Secretariat’s 2015 Youth Worker of the Year Award, a citation of appreciation from the Commonwealth Secretariat for supporting the establishment of the Commonwealth Student Forum, and the Bahamas Tourism Association’s 2017 Tourism Champion Award.
He is the CEO and Managing Consultant of The Darville Group Trainers and Consultants and the owner of Virtual Funerals Bahamas – a social media based live stream service provider developed through the social distancing restrictions of COVID 19. Pastor Darville, his wife Leading Woman Marine Chrystal Darville (17-year veteran of the Royal Bahamas Defense Force) and their daughter Chasity reside in New Providence, The Bahamas.
