Leading the way in the establishment of this connection was (then) Rev. Neil C. Ellis along with other pioneers of the movement here in The Bahamas, such as State Overseer Mitchell Cooper (now deceased), State Overseer L. E. Moss of Exuma (now deceased), and District Overseer Bruce Rolle of Bimini ( also now deceased); to name a few.

The early days of the Full Gospel Fellowship were not easy, and many of the member churches and pastors were criticized, persecuted and ostracized for their participation.  However, like the children of Israel, the more they were persecuted the more they grew, and to date the Full Gospel Baptist Church Fellowship International has evolved into one of the fastest growing and most highly respected religious organizations of our day!

Over the years, the Fellowship has provided a platform and opportunities for incredible international exposure for both many Bahamian leaders and the laity, within the organization.  In unprecedented fashion, members of the Bahamas Region of this great Fellowship have made their presence felt in this International Organization; serving with diligence and excellence in every tier of Leadership.  To date, the most recent and significant appointment has been the elevation of former Regional Bishop, Bishop Neil C. Ellis to the second highest position within the Fellowship – that of International Second Presiding Bishop.

While blessed and inspired by their past accomplishments, as members of a progressive organization such as the Full Gospel Baptist Church Fellowship, leaders of the Bahamas Region understand that with God every round goes higher and higher!  Therefore, in keeping with the theme as declared by their International Presiding Bishop 2007 was the year, that they embraced the challenge to “Go to the next dimension”.
